Seven MPS schools exit a federal improvement identification
Under the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), Wisconsin identifies schools for Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) when overall performance is among the lowest 5% of Title I schools, and for Additional Targeted Support and Improvement (ATSI) when one group of students within a school, such as students with disabilities, scores as low as those bottom 5% of schools. MPS says these seven schools met the state's criteria to exit one of those identifications.

Three are no longer identified for CSI for lowest performance: Lloyd Barbee Montessori School (K3 to 8), William Bryant School (K3 to 5) and Lowell Goodrich School (K4 to 5).
