Farm growth in large cities

Most of America’s largest cities have seen a decline in farm operations, largely due to urban sprawl and development. However, these 13 cities saw an increase in farm operations from 2012 to 2022, based on USDA county-level records. Most of the new farms are small operations with less than 9 acres.
