About a Quarter of Adults Disenrolled in the Medicaid Unwinding Are Uninsured

KFF surveyed people who were enrolled in Medicaid when states last year began purging their rolls. Of those disenrolled in the unwinding, nearly half reenrolled in Medicaid, while about a quarter are still uninsured.

Note: Disenrolled adults are 19% of those who had Medicaid coverage prior to the start of the unwinding. Coverage types reported by fewer than 1% of the population are excluded from this chart.
