Blacks have the lowest rate of homeownership

Homeownership rates among Black Americans have the lowest among other racial/ethnic groups, even among peers of similar income. The gap between Black and white ownership, about 30 percentage points, is wider than it was in 1960 when lenders could legally discriminate according to race.
