Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, the balance between the days that U.S. workers wish to work from home, the days their employers have planned for them to be at home and the days that they actually are remote has shifted. Since 2023, what employers have planned has closely tracked what actually happens. But employees would rather work from home more than they do, while still preferring a hybrid schedule.
