About half say in-person religious services should be barred during coronavirus pandemic

A new UChicago Divinity School/AP-NORC poll finds little support among Americans for allowing unrestricted in-person religious services during the coronavirus pandemic, although many think they should be allowed with some restrictions. White evangelical Protestants are especially likely to support in-person services.

Results based on interviews with 1,002 U.S. adults conducted April 30–May 4. The margin of error is ±4.2 percentage points for the full sample.
