Note: Mean is the average value. Median is the middle of all values. When the mean is much higher than the median it tells us that there is a smaller group of much higher values that greatly weight, or affect, this type of average calculation. This is common in income-related data sets where there is typically a smaller group of high earners that drive up the average.
