Nebraska counties by voter registration, as of May 1, 2024

State Sen. Steve Erdman of Bayard, a lead advocate for the EPIC Option ballot initiative, which would eliminate all taxes except consumption and excise taxes, said organizers spent the past few weeks gathering signatures from voters in the state's counties with the fewest registered voters. While he couldn't specify which counties, the 38 counties with the fewest voters are denoted below. Petition organizers must collect signatures from 5% of registered voters in at least two-fifths of the state's 93 counties.

Voter registrations are as of May 1, 2024. Any combination of counties may be submitted for verification, which is part of a larger bulk signature requirement: 7% of voters statewide for new laws, 10% for constitutional amendments. EPIC Option organizers said Tuesday, May 21, they surpassed the multicounty requirement.
