Colorado rates the quality of school districts largely based on results from standardized tests. Districts that receive one of the state's two lowest ratings are put on the state's "accountability clock." Ratings from highest to lowest are: Distinction, Accredited, Improvement, Priority Improvement and Turnaround. Beginning this year, all ratings indicate whether a school district met the federal 95 percent participation requirement.
