From 10% to 69%: how women's Everest summit rate transformed over 50 years

Between 1975 and 1980, men summited Everest at more than twice the rate of women. Even today, men summit at a higher rate — but only 1.2 times higher. Fifty years of data show the gap between men and women is steadily closing.
