Tick bites sending more Northeast residents to the hospital

Tick bite cases are up in the Northeast in 2025, according to federal data. The chart shows the number of tick bite cases per 100,000 hospital emergency department visits by month and year from January 2017 through early July 2025.

Northeast region includes New England states, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia.
