Most common causes of death in New Jersey

On average, cancer and heart disease have killed 15,000 to 18,000 New Jerseyans in each of the last five years. COVID-19 has already claimed the lives of 8,200 in just two months. The flu only kills about 1,260 New Jerseyans each year.
