For the week ending April 4, the U.S. Department of Labor report shows 384,444 advance initial claims for Michigan. The last three weeks – from March 15 through April 4 – Michigan has seen 817,585 total initial claims. Compared to the three weeks ending February 29, March 7 and March 14, this represents more than a 5,000% increase. These numbers represent USDOL’s weekly numbers which are revised the following week after they are initially released.
