In 83% of arbitration cases, the government never fought back

Over the last five fiscal years, the government agencies have filed counterclaims in only 27 of 160 arbitration disputes at NEPCA. In the remaining 133 cases, the state offered no financial defense against contractor demands totaling over Rs 1,389 crore.
