Vaccination drives are hitting a ceiling in New York City and nationwide, both in the number of fully vaccinated people and booster doses. About 6.4 million New Yorkers are fully vaccinated and 3 million booster doses have been handed out. The city cites its full population as being 8.3 million.
The fully vaccinated data shows the cumulative number of second doses administered of Pfizer or Moderna plus the cumulative number of single doses of Johnson & Johnson vaccine. The booster data shows the cumulative number of additional doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered.
