Road fatalities across DFW have trended upwards over the past decade, spiking around the COVID-19 pandemic.

NCTCOG sourced this data from a TxDOT data dump dated to April 2, 2025. The "12-County Region" encompasses: Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant, and Wise Counties.
