Groups most likely to be displaced by disasters

In U.S. Census Bureau surveys, 2.7% of Americans with disabilities said they were displaced by disasters at least once in the previous year, nearly twice the U.S. average. Black, Hispanic and lower-income adults were also displaced at rates higher than average.

Bars show 1.4% of the US population was displaced by disasters at some point. Black (2.3%), Hispanic (1.8%), disabled (2.7%) and low-income (1.9%) Americans were displaced at higher rates than average.
