Unemployment claim overpayments have soared between April and June

The state has approved over half a million claims for unemployment since the pandemic began.

Waivers are granted on a case-by-case basis for "non-fraud" claims, taking into account "family income, health conditions, bankruptcy and the availability of Social Service benefits."
