Compared to 2024, incidents of gun violence are down citywide, but they're up in some precincts

This map of New York City's 78 police precincts shows which precincts saw an increase in incidents of gun violence between 2024 and 2025. The data includes incidents between January 1 and August 24 of both years.
*A precinct that had at least five incidents this year since August 24 and experienced an increase of at least two incidents compared to the same period in 2024 is considered to have experienced a "significant increase."
