Change in Federal Employment in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware

Federal employment across Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware fell by nearly 8,300 from January 2025 through February 2026 — a 14.4% decline. The Department of the Treasury, Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Social Security Administration, saw the largest job cuts.

Data reflect employment as of the final pay period of each month. Data for the United States Postal Service and employees working in most law enforcement or national security roles are not included.
