Meanwhile, crimes against Asian Americans more than doubled, from less than 300 to almost 800. Crimes against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, Sikhs, and LGBT communities saw some of the highest increases.
† In some cases, a hate crime incident targets a group of people rather than individuals. An example is the vandalization of an LGBTQ community center, which the FBI would classify as an “anti-lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender (mixed group)” hate crime.
