Residential clean technologies with the greatest average annual cost savings
The average annual savings shown on this map reflect both up-front costs and operating expenses, evaluated over the lifetime of each technology — 25 years for rooftop solar, 10 years for electric vehicles, and 15 years for space heating equipment. For heating electrification, a technology is only shown where at least 20% of households use the corresponding fuel. For example, if fewer than 20% of households rely on delivered fuels, it will not appear as the most cost-saving option on the map, even if it offers the highest savings.
