The low labour force participation rate among Hindustani immigrants as a whole is due to the very low labour market participation of women in this group, at just 25%. Despite their higher level of education, the gap with the male labour force participation rate stands at 67 percentage points, a much wider gap than that found in any other immigrant group in Spain. By contrast, 89% of Chinese immigrant women in Spain are in work or actively seeking employment, a higher percentage than that of their male counterparts and that of native-born women.
