Modern tanks are the Char B1/B1 bis, SOMUA S35, Hotchkiss H35/H39 and Renault R35, including about 60 delivered before 1937 and 250 exported. Combat aircraft are those built in France; imports such as the American Curtiss H-75 are excluded. "Without the law" assumes French factories worked British hours from 1937, adjusted for fatigue, learning, investment and reduced disruption; the 47mm gun also enters production seven months earlier. Multiples are calculated from unrounded figures. Rounded to two significant figures. Method in the appendix.
