AA Degree-Seeking Students’ Perceptions Regarding Attainment of Mathematics Discipline-Level Competencies
This grouped bar chart displays AA degree-seeking students' perceptions of their attainment of Mathematics discipline-level competencies across five outcomes (M-1 through M-5) for academic years 2022-23 and 2023-24, measured on a 5-point scale where 5 = very much and 1 = none.
Student perceptions remain consistently high across both years and all five competencies, ranging from 4.23 to 4.32 on the 5-point scale. Year-over-year changes are minimal and mixed: M-1 increases from 4.26 to 4.32, M-2 decreases slightly from 4.25 to 4.24, M-3 declines from 4.28 to 4.25, M-4 drops from 4.27 to 4.23, and M-5 improves from 4.24 to 4.26. M-1 shows the highest student confidence in 2023-24 at 4.32, while M-4 exhibits the lowest at 4.23. The extremely tight clustering of all ratings—within a 0.09-point range—indicates remarkably stable and strong student confidence in achieving Mathematics competencies across all outcomes. This measure was discontinued in 2024-25 due to the college's transition to new survey software.
