Hundreds of thousands of students in Midwest and Great Plains could lose free school meals under proposed cut

A proposed change to a school meal program for high-need districts would make it harder for schools to qualify. Across the north-central U.S., thousands of schools are in the margin of potential cuts according to the Food Research and Action Center.
