Tulsa Public Schools has lost thousands of students in the last decade. Declining enrollment historically meant school closures.

Once again, the district is facing a multi-million dollar budget cliff this school year. Unlike in previous budget crises, it hasn't announced definitive school closures or consolidations.

From 2015 to 2019, state data includes district-sponsored charters in the total enrollment numbers. The 2019-2020 drop off reflects the change in state enrollment reports — TPS sponsored charters were no longer included in the district's overall count.
