Switzerland appears to be a primary destination for gold from the Amazon region

Gold exports (net weight in tonnes) from the Amazon region* by destination, 2020-2021.

*Based on the definition of the Legal Amazon, which includes the states of Acre, Pará, Amazonas, Amapá, Roraima, Rondônia, Mato Grosso, Tocantins and Maranhão. Only 5 states from the Amazon region exported gold in 2020-2021 - Amapá, Amazonas, Maranhão, Mato Grosso and Pará.
