ACA marketplace enrollment quadrupled in four Texas border counties since 2021 tax-credit expansion

Enrollment in Affordable Care Act marketplace plans rose sharply in four border counties after Congress expanded premium tax credits in 2021, making coverage cheaper for many Texans. Enrollment is expected to decline after Congress failed to extend the tax credits in January.
