In addition to the states with biometric laws already on the books, bills to provide protection of biometric information are under consideration in Florida, Massachusetts, Maryland, Nebraska and New York. A biometric protection bill has been approved in Utah and is awaiting the governor's signature. The cities of Portland, Oregon, and New York City recently enacted their own biometric privacy laws.
