Peaking late

Number of regions reporting highest number of daily infections in two-week period.

While daily infections in Russia hit their highest level in early May, this was largely driven by the large case load in Moscow. For many regions the peak came significantly later, and a number of the resulting fatalities from these periods may not yet have been reported in all-cause fatality data, which is only available up until the end of June. Overall, the infection rate remains high, with more than a third of Russia's regions still reporting daily cases of at least half the peak level.

Includes only regions which have reported an average of least 50 daily infections over a 7-day period. Peak dates are taken as the highest number of weekly infections, calculated on a rolling 7-day period.
