The 10 Deadliest Vehicles for Drivers
Driver death rates show the number of driver deaths per million registered vehicle years, meaning one vehicle registered for one year. Rates are based on 2023 models and earlier models with the same design and features, using fatal crashes from 2021 to 2024. A higher rate means drivers of that model were more likely to die in a crash. The average across all vehicles is 37, so every model in the top 10 has a driver death rate nearly three times the average or higher.
