June heatwave caused an estimated 22,000 heat-related deaths in England and Wales

Estimates show during the heatwave between June 18-28 there were almost 22,000 heat related excess deaths (21,902 in England and 98 in Wales). But about 800 (40 per cent) of those deaths would not have occurred in a world without climate change, according to analysis.
