Spending Trends

Major league stadiums continue to push the money spent on sports venues to record levels, as spending grows in all other categories as well.

1 ) In 2020, SoFi Stadium, Allegiant Stadium, Globe Life Field open, marking the first time three venues with price tags topping $1 billion have opened in the same year.
2 ) College stadium spending tops $1 billion for the first time in 2009.
3 ) A record $3.9 billion was spent on arenas in 2021, led by Climate Pledge Arena ($1.15B) and UBS Arena ($1.5B).
