Confidence in US strength as an ally dropped in just one year

Share of respondents in 2025 and 2026 who agree or disagree that their enemies would be afraid to attack them because of their relationship with the U.S.

The poll was conducted from Feb. 6 to Feb. 9, surveying more than 2,000 respondents each from Canada, U.K., France and Germany, and has an overall margin of error of ±2 percentage points. Smaller subgroups have higher margins of error. Results are compared to previous polling conducted by Public First between March 11 and 16, 2025, covering the U.K. (2,055 adults) , U.S. (2,103), France (1,979), and Germany (1,992).
