Investopedia's monthly median housing cost figure includes principal, interest, taxes, and insurance costs for a median-priced home in the United States.

Median home price is from the Zillow Home Value Index. Monthly housing cost includes mortgage principal, interest, taxes, and insurance. We assume a down payment of 10%. Interest rates are via Zillow Mortgage and averaged monthly.
