Fewer U.S. schools today have full-time nurses

Nationwide, only 39% of schools today employ a full-time nurse. It's more common in the South, where 61% of schools have their own nurse, and least common in the West, where only 10% of schools do. In many districts, the school nurse is shared among multiple schools.

Roll over each region for the breakdown of schools with full-time, part-time or no nurses. Regional data might not add up to 100% due to rounding. Data from 2016.
