New Jersey cities with more than 10 homicides in 2020

Amid a surge in gun violence, murders in the state leaped by 26% in 2020, rising to 329, from 262 in 2019. Combined, the following eight communities accounted for six of every 10 of the state's homicides, though not all saw increases last year.
