State Overview of Coronavirus Daily Tests

This table lays out metrics for understanding the reach and severity of COVID-19 in a given area: the number of new cases, the testing rate per 1,000 people and positivity rate, and percentage of tests that are positive. Before reopening, the WHO has advised governments that positivity rates should remain at 5% or lower for at least 14 days.

The COVID Tracking Project collects data directly from state and territory public health authorities or statements from state officials. For this reason, some data may be missing if state totals were not reported the previous day. Further, some states have better testing data completeness and accuracy than others. Visit covidtracking.com to review each state’s data quality.
