6 routes to a 50% reduction in US emissions by 2030

President Joe Biden's goal is a 50% reduction in U.S. greenhouse gas emissions or more by 2030 compared to 2005 levels. Reaching 50% would mean cutting about 3,300 megatons of carbon dioxide-equivalent emissions. The first bar shows how much had been cut by 2019. The other six show different routes to achieving that goal.

The bars show net greenhouse gas reductions in megatons of carbon dioxide-equivalent emissions.
