Share of for-sale homes in the S.F. metro area that have not sold within 30 days
Two lines show the share of homes in the San Francisco and Oakland metro divisions that have remained unsold for at least 30 days. The San Francisco and Oakland lines remained fairly similar in 2019, bounced between 40% and 80%, but diverged during the pandemic, with the San Francisco line generally being higher and Oakland's like dipping below 30% in 2021 and 2022. As of mid-2024, about 55% of homes in the San Francisco division and 40% in the Oakland division went unsold
