Vail's general sales tax revenue fell year-over-year as the winter got worse. The hit was more than the town expected.

The town had to amend its budget's revenue projects down by $5.5 million as tax collections came in lower than expected due to the record-low snowpack. 

As of April 30, Vail has collected sales tax up to February 2026. March and April in the chart depict Vail's updated revenue projections.
