Digital Accessibility 2026: Sector Comparison of 245 Websites in Germany

The table presents the results of an analysis conducted by Gisma University of Applied Sciences on the digital accessibility of 245 websites across ten sectors (survey date: February 2026). For each sector, the average Lighthouse score as well as the number and share of websites across all scoring levels (100, 90+, 80+, 70+, and 60+ points) are shown.

A total of 245 websites from ten socially relevant sectors were examined, including universities, city administrations, public transport providers, medical practices, pharmacies, online shops, real estate companies, email providers, law firms, and Bundesliga clubs. Technical accessibility was assessed using the Google Lighthouse tool. The analysis is based on the same selection of websites as in the March 2025 survey, ensuring direct comparability over time. A score of 100 points indicates a fully accessible website according to the Lighthouse-tested criteria; lower scores indicate remaining technical barriers. Average values are rounded.
