Most Americans with SNAP benefits are under 18 or over 60

About 59% of the Americans who get benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program are either kids or adults over 60. About 20% of the adults under 50 who get these benefits have disabilities that make it hard or impossible for them to work full time or at all.
