Industry comparison: Technology & Software and Telecommunications in first place
About the study:
The study examined 48 companies from three groups: 40 DAX 40 companies, five online retailers (Amazon, eBay, Otto, About You, MediaMarktSaturn) and three credit reference agencies (Schufa Holding AG, CRIF Bürgel GmbH, Creditreform Boniversum GmbH). The analysis was based exclusively on publicly available communications on official company websites (including blogs, news items and specialist articles); no external sources or third-party press releases were used. Using ten criteria (1 point for ‘yes’, 0 points for ‘no’), an overall score of 0 to 10 was calculated for each company. For the sector comparison within the DAX 40, the average score per sector was calculated; as the number of companies per sector ranges from one (telecommunications, logistics & transport) to six (finance & insurance, chemicals & pharmaceuticals), the figures for smaller sectors should be interpreted with corresponding caution. General explanatory or use-case content (e.g. descriptions of where AI is used within the company) was only taken into account if it specifically related to the company’s own governance or implementation; mere declarations of intent or general references to the EU AI Act without any reference to the company’s own compliance were not counted. Only public documentation was assessed; the actual internal implementation of AI within companies was not evaluated. Survey period: July
