Number of eligible locations under the BEAD program

In December 2022, the Federal Communications Commission released an updated version of its National Broadband Map for states to use for the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment Program. States originally identified 4.86 million BEAD eligible locations. That number is projected to fall to 4.19 million locations — a 14% decrease — following the Trump administration's changes.
