Did FEMA Grant My County's Public Assistance Request?

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) approved more counties for public assistance than they did for individual aid to residents. Among the 14 counties Gov. Patrick Morrisey had flagged, FEMA only denied only Cabell and Kanawha counties public assistance.

A county map of West Virginia shows the ten southernmost counties shaded green, indicating they were approved for individual aid. Two counties above those (Cabell and Kanawha counties) are red, indicating they were denied. All other counties are gray, indicating the governor did not request individual aid for them.
