This bar chart displays votes on HB 1988 (2024), which allowed additional tax credits under the Children's Promise Act. "Yes" votes were in support of the ESA program and coded "support" to private school choice, and "No" votes were opposed to the ESA program and coded "opposed."

Senate districts that contained at least one rural school district were classified as rural, while Senate districts that did not contain any rural school districts were classified as urban/suburban (or not rural). The Census' definition and designation of rural was used to classified school districts.
