Reported crimes drop across most major categories
This year, most major property- and violent-crime categories were lower than any year since at least the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Small multiple line charts show year-to-date counts for larceny theft, assault, burglary, motor vehicle theft, robbery, arson, rape, human trafficking and homicide from 2017 to 2025; most categories decline into 2025.
