Indiana Senate Democrat school choice voting analysis comparing rural to urban/suburban

This table displays votes on HB 1001, which would have expanded eligibility for an Education Savings Account (ESA) program in 2024. "Yes" votes were in support of ESAs and coded "support" to private school choice, and "No" votes were opposed to removing ESAs and coded "opposed".

Senate districts that contained at least one rural school district were classified as rural, while Senate districts that did not contain any rural school districts were classified as urban/suburban (or not rural). The Census' definition and designation of rural were used to classify school districts.
